Pistay Dayat’s songfest set April 29
As part of the Pistay Dayat festivities, the province of Pangasinan will stage a vocal solo competition dubbed “Takayan Na Dayew” for Pangasinense youths aged 6 to 22 years in two categories named Ugugaw category for contestants 6 to 12 years old and the Babalulaki tan Mamarikit category for Pangasinenses aged 12 to 22 years old on April 29 , 7:00pm at the Capitol Plaza here.
Janet Asis, committee chairman for the singing competition said the contest is open to all Pangasinenses who are bonafide residents of Pangasinan for at least six (6) months. However, professional singers who are under any contract with certain management are disqualified to join the competition.

Audition and screening of official contestants for the competition will be held on April 16 at 9:00am to 5:00pm at the OPag Field station in Alaminos; April 17, 9:00am to 4:00pm at Rosales and April 18, 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center in Lingayen.
Registration forms are available at the Human Resource Management Office at Kalantiao Building, Capitol Compound, Lingayen; SM City Rosales Management Office and at the respective municipal offices.
During the audition, contestants are advised to bring their minus one CDs and must perform their masterpiece which will later be their contest piece in the competition.
The screening committee will choose the top 5 contestants for each category to join the semi final round to be scheduled later on.
Contestants are also advised to have two more songs which they can choose from during rehearsals as the finalists are required to attend rehearsals for the production number.
Prizes at stake are cash prizes up to P20, 000 for the grand prize winner for the Babalulaki tan Mamarikit category while the Ugugaw category champ will receive a cash prize of P15, 000.
The 1st runner up and 2nd runner up in the adult category will receive a cash prize of P15, 000 and P10, 000 respectively while cash prizes of P10, 000 and
P7, 000 will be given to the 1st runner up and 2nd runner up for the children category.
Asis noted that consolation prizes of P3, 000 will also be given plus trophies and certificates to the winning participants.
