The craftsmanship and ingenuity of Pangasinenses prevailed following a colorful parade of floats and exciting performance of street dancers during the Parada Na Dayew , a grand cultural parade highlighting the various festivals of Pangasinan towns during the 432nd founding anniversary celebration of Agew na Pangasinan last April 11.
The float design and street dance competition which provided color and excitement to the Agew na Pangasinan celebration proved to be a huge success with the active involvement of some 5,000 participants from the LGUs who brought out their artistic skills and innovative ideas through their beautifully designed floats and the creative execution of their dance acts with the performers clad in colorful costumes.
The scorching heat of the sun did not dampen the energy of participants as well as the spectators as the floats, depicting the history and culture of their localities or showcasing their best products, traversed the main thoroughfares of Lingayen town while the street dancers danced away the summer heat with their dance performances showcasing the various festivals of each participating town.
As this developed, Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. congratulated the participants to the competition and personally awarded the cash prizes and trophies to the winners.
The Sigay Festival depicted in the Binmaley Float garnered unanimous votes from the panel of judges when it was adjudged the champion in the float design competition earning a cash prize of P100, 000 and a trophy from the province.
