ROSALES—Thanks to its strategic location, this town is
emerging as the center for national government satellite offices
intended to serve northern Luzon.
Last week, the Office of the Ombudsman inaugurated an office in Barangay
Carmay here, following the Technical Education and Skills Development
Authority (TESDA) that opened a center last year.
Rosales shares a common boundary with the provinces of Tarlac and Nueva
Ecija, and is located along the main national highway that links
northern Luzon to Manila.
Former 6th District Rep. Conrado Estrella III said having these offices
in Rosales will help the public in terms of cutting down travel time and
other expenses as well as significantly reduce the volume of people at
existing offices in Baguio City and Manila.
Estrella announced that the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will
open a branch in the same location on May 11 while a five-storey
building for the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) is under
construction.
Expected to follow suit are the buildings of the National Tobacco
Administration and the Department of Labor and Employment, which will
also house the offices of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration
(OWWA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and the
National Conciliation and Mediation Board, according to Estrella.
Estrella underscored that these offices are meant to serve not just Region 1 but residents within northern Luzon.
Estrella commended citizen Pancracio” Bobby’ Rodriquez who donated the
lot for the government center. (with report from PIA-Pangasinan)
