Ombudsman regional office to open in Pangasinan
PANGASINAN, April 27 (PIA) -- The Office of the Ombudsman is set to
inaugurate its regional or satellite office in Rosales town here on
Monday, April 30.
In a letter to the Philippine Information Agency, assistant
Ombudsman and spokesperson Atty. Asryman Rafanan said the opening of the
satellite office is one way of bringing their services to the people of
Northern Luzon for more accessibility and transparency in public
transactions.
It will also boost the office's mandate to eradicate graft and corruption in government, he said.
The new office building is located in Barangay Carmay East in Rosales town. The program starts at 11:00 a.m.
The office of the Ombudsman is responsible for investigating and prosecuting Philippine government officials accused of crimes.
It independently monitors all three branches of the government and
is responsible for receiving complaints from citizens and organizations
from the country. The Ombudsman usually prosecutes officials accused of
graft and corruption. (ANL/VHS-PIA 1 Pangasinan)
