April 30 is a special non working day in Dagupan City for Bangus Fest

CITY, April 28 (PIA) -- It will be a long holiday of festivities for
DagupeƱos as Malacanang declared April 30, a holiday in the city.
Proclamation No 371 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, Jr by
authority of the President, declares Monday, April 30 as a special
non-working day in the city of Dagupan to enable its people to
participate in the Bangus Festival.
The proclamation said it is but fitting and proper that the people of
the city be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the
occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
The Bangus Festival, now on its 11th year, is an annual event in the
city with the street party grilling dubbed as ‘Kalutan ed Dalan’ as the
event highlight scheduled on April 30. Thousands of bangus (milkfish)
will be grilled simultaneously in the main streets of the city and
several stages will be put up for the street concert come night time.
The declaration marks a long vacation for DagupeƱos since the next day
May 1 or Labor Day, is a regular holiday in the Philippines.
