Dagupan City regains PRISAA crown

THE contingent of Dagupan City harvested the most number of medals in the PRISAA Regional Meet held in Laoag City, last October 27-30 with 81 gold, 48 silver and 25 bronze medals.
Dagupan’s total of 154 medals bested the 151 gained by San Carlos City Division, which has been leading the PRISAA games for the past two years.
San Carlos has 77 gold, 45 silver, and 29 bronze.
Powered by about 120 athletes from the University of Luzon out of a 180 total, the Dagupan City Division bagged medals in all the eleven sports events it participated in.
Meanwhile, the San Carlos City Division, mostly represented by athletes from the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, won in four events and dominated in athletics.
The 2010 PRISAA sporting event was participated in by some 800 athletes, coaches and officials representing six (6) provincial and city divisions/chapters.
The gold medalists in the various team and individual events will represent PRISAA Region I in the PRISAA National Games, renamed as National Collegiate Games (NC Games), slated on February 20-26, 2011 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
The 2011 NC Games will be participated in by 17 regional delegations from around the Philippines.
