Teachers in Pangasinan who volunteered during the 2007 Elections are entitled to work leave credits, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Pangasinan announced Thursday.
A provincial Comelec officer said they will give teachers incentives to encourage them and acknowledge their contributions during the election period.
Agnes Calicdan, a teacher, said she was happy for receiving 3-day leave credits for working in the previous election. "We can use those leave credits when we have emergencies and we need to skip school," she said.
