ROSALES, Pangasinan, Jan. 5 (PNA)--SM City Rosales in Pangasinan has put up a recycling market which buys non-biodegradable materials from the public as its contribution in addressing the problem on climate change.
Launched last January 2, the market is in support of the program called “Trash to Cash”, in conjunction with other SM malls throughout the country.
The company said the waste recycling market is open every first Friday and Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the SM City Rosales open parking area.
In cooperation with the local junk shops particularly from Villasis, Urdaneta, and Alcala, Pangasinan, this project aims to instill awareness on everyone on how to properly dispose of their garbage and learn how to reuse some non-biodegradable rubbish in their homes.
Some of non-biodegradable rubbish one can exchange with cash are old newspapers, scrap papers and cardboard, glass and plastic bottles and plastic scraps, aluminum, tin cans, busted rechargeable lamps, used lead batteries (from cars), galvanized steel sheets, empty ink and toner cartridge, polysterene, styrofoam, junk cellphone, cellphone batteries and even used and busted appliances.
SM City Rosales also provided tips on how to reuse these materials in a do-it-yourself way. (PNA)
